Thread from other board deleted

Dear AGFMB Members,

Someone from another board came on to our board at around 2:30 this morning and wrote a post about a post that one of our members wrote on their board. Our member was protesting to their members about a troll that had posted on our board and had sent an inappropriate PM to at least one of our members, and perhaps others. Apparently the member of their board who did this just started posting on their board the same day as he posted on our board, and the post from our AGFMB member on their board felt very unfair to their member who posted here.

There is no indication yet of whether the person who posted that message here this morning is one of their moderators or just a person who posts on their board. Either way, I felt that it was inappropriate for him to come on our board and post in a way that sounded like he was scolding our members. I have written to him and requested that in the future, if any of our members create a problem on their board, well-intentioned though it might be, that one of their moderators contact one of our moderators and we will take care of the issue.

I also want to correct his suggestion to you-all that if you have a problem with a troll or someone PM-ing you inappropriately you should contact Hostboard to complain (rather than come on to his board, posting publicly). We have received the request from Hostboard Administration in the past that members not contact Hostboard directly. They would prefer that if you have a problem you contact your moderators first, and we will either take care of the problem, or we will contact Hostboard with the pieces of the problem that we can't handle.

We have banned the troll from last week from our board, and we have reported his inappropriate PM(s) to our member(s) to Hostboard Administration. If you have a problem with PMs from him or any other HB member, please do not go on another message board to "get back" at him. Please just report the problem to your moderators here, and we can take care of it through the proper channels.

P.S. Hostboard Administration suggested that we remind you that you can block anyone that you don't want to receive PMs from, which I did in a "Public Service Announcement" to you, yesterday.
